These flashcards and posters can be used in the morning while singing a days of the week song. Why not choose two kids each morning to tell the class what day it is!
As always, the flashcards come in multiple versions, helping teachers to fully customize their flashcard set depending on their student’s level. The first set comes with the day’s word accompanied by a colorful visual aid in the form of growing grass. This set also has a colorful visual representation of where the day is positioned within the week. Having this visual aid helps students to understand that there are 7 days in each week.
The second set comes with the same calendar style visual aid but is slightly less colorful. This flashcard set contains the abbreviated day words found on many calendars.

This set concentrates on the word and spelling of the word. It has the commonly abbreviated portion of the word highlighted. This will familiarize your kids with the abbreviations commonly seen on calendars, schedules, and wristwatches!

How To Use These Days of the Week Flashcards
These days of the week flashcards can be used in simple daily routines to help children learn the order of the week and understand basic time vocabulary.
Start by introducing one day at a time and repeat it regularly. For example, say the day clearly and have students repeat it:
“Monday… Monday… Today is Monday.”
Use the flashcards every morning during circle time or calendar time to build strong daily habits and routine awareness.
Once students are familiar with all seven days, begin practising sequencing by putting the days in order from Monday to Sunday.
You can also introduce simple speaking questions such as “What day is it today?” to encourage everyday classroom communication.
These flashcards work best when used consistently as part of a daily classroom routine.

Days of the Week Flashcard Activities
Daily Calendar Routine
Start each morning by asking:
“What day is it today?”
Students choose the correct flashcard and place it on a classroom calendar or weekly chart. This builds routine awareness and time vocabulary.
Put the Days in Order
Shuffle the flashcards and ask students to work together to arrange them in the correct weekly order from Monday to Sunday.
Extend the activity by asking:
- “What day comes before Wednesday?”
- “What day comes after Friday?”

Sing a simple days of the week song while pointing to each flashcard.
Students can:
